Flower Essences

Some of the most profound healing I have experienced has come from using flower essences.  I highly recommend everyone try these because it’s so easy to get and use and the results can be outstanding.Flower essences come from the blossoms of plants, which are then sun infused in a bowl of water, diluted and preserved in alcohol (usually brandy).  It falls in the category of energy or vibrational medicine.  I know how frou frou that sounds but it’s scientifically proven that everything is energy, right? Ok, so let’s move on.    I was watching the show Life  about plants the other day and it was so amazing to me what plants actually go through in order to survive.  They are truly the geniuses of our eco system.  All of those experiences are imprinted on the plant or flower.  Taking flower essences is a way of giving ourselves the experience of the plant.  Our bodies actually understand this energy and can utilize it.  And because of the nature of this medicine, it can do no harm.  It is safe for adults, pregnant women, children and pets.So if you’re looking for some emotional support, flower essences are a great place to start.  Bach’s Flower Essences are very easy to get online or somewhere like Whole Foods or Pharmaca.  Bach’s offers simple questionnaires on their website to help you choose what you need most.  Another company I recently discovered is Green Hope Farm, I love everything about them.  If you read their website you will get a very clear picture of who these people are and their sincere intentions to be of service.  They also have a lot of really great information about flower essences there. If you’re wondering how to take them, there are various approaches and each brand is a little different but the most common way is to put a few drops in some water and drink it several times a day.  It’s not about the amount as much as consistency.  You want a steady stream of the flower essences going into your body.  So I might even just use 8-10 drops in a huge bottle of water and just drink that throughout the day.  You can also put them in your bath, spritz them in the air or rub them on your skin, I like to do it on specific acupuncture points.  The best advice I got was that you stop taking it when your body doesn’t want it anymore.  A good indicator of that is if you have been consistent for a while and you start forgetting, it might be time to try something new.
