Time of the Season

My fig tree has sprouted some new greenery and I have seen our first tiny baby fig.  Springtime is upon us.  Life is bursting out of the sleepy winter months.  Here in LA the weather is in the high 70’s by the beaches.  What could be better?  Not much, but alas this glorious time of year does come with a price: allergies and colds.  It is common for people to get sick in the transition to any season, not just spring.  Our bodies innately know that it is time for change and unfortunately, they aren’t always healthy enough to go through the transition with ease and grace. What I RecommendBe extra good to yourself.  Don’t underestimate the power of sleep and a healthy meal.  Eat more leafy greens.  Get some exercise.  Learn to meditate, if you don't already.  Take a great multivitamin, especially your vitamin D.  Get some sunlight!  And of course, get some acupunctureAcupuncture is a terrific way to strengthen your immune system and maintain wellness, it will also support better sleep and healthier digestion, which is where our immunity starts.  If you don’t see an acupuncturist regularly, make it a point to see one for a seasonal tune-up to keep everything flowing smoothly.Most importantly, have some fun!  Do the things you love most.  Allow yourself to enjoy the beautiful weather and the energy of life bursting forth this Time of the Season.Happy Spring!!For appointments, please email acupuncturebycarmen@gmail.com
